Shortly after the birth, Walakifina’s mum realised that her baby was blind. But she couldn’t even afford the bus fare to the optician. Fortunately, Walakifina was given a free lift to the eye clinic in Moshi, Tanzania. She had the operation there free of charge.
When Uriel was a toddler, an eye operation saved him from going blind. Thanks to his glasses, he can now even go to school, play to his heart’s content and play football. Perhaps one day he’ll make his biggest dream come true.
